Flex Timing Belts

Flex timing belts are manufactured endlessly without interruptions in the tension cords. Since they have no joints, they can bear higher tensile forces than welded timing belts. The length of the belt can be chosen freely, considering the tooth pitch. Therefore, they can be used wherever no suitable length is available as a cast molded timing belt roll. Flex timing belts are ideal for power transmission in drives even at high speeds and for challenging conveying tasks.

Belt structure

  • Belt body made of thermoplastic polyurethane with high abrasion resistance
  • Endless coiled tension cords made of high-tensile steel

Special tension cords

Stainless steel

Timing belts with tension cords made of stainless steel are applied in highly corrosive media or in humid environments. The tensile strength is somewhat lower than that of standard steel tension cords.

Aramid

Aramid fibers provide excellent flexural properties and low weight. Belts with tension cords made of aramid are therefore flexible and lightweight. However, the belts elongate over time when exposed to high tensile stress.

Special materials

For operation at high or low temperatures, special PUR is available for the belt body. Materials with FDA approval for applications in the food industry are also in stock.
